EASTLEIGH RUNNING CLUB

Welcome to EASTLEIGH RUNNING CLUB

With run leaders and coaches, all qualified to UK Athletics standards, Eastleigh Running Club has the passion, experience and expertise to help you achieve your running ambitions.

Joining a club can only enhance the experience of being a runner, whether through competition, social running, support and advice. Our club provides a no pressure environment that allows a runner to participate at all levels.

Our club is proud to compete in a number of local competitions, including Hampshire Cross Country, Road Race League, RR10 and the CC6 series. You will also find our members taking part in events both at home and abroad, from Park Runs to Ultras.

We don’t just run, our members enjoy social get togethers, whether for coffee and cake or an evening drink.

The club is fortunate to enjoy the services of five qualified and dedicated coaches. They have coaching skills in athletics, endurance and triathlon.

We also have a team of run leaders with the “Leader in Running Fitness” qualification from England Athletics. Our coaches and run leaders are all keen to help any runner, at any level, who has the desire to improve.

Our Coaches

The Club has five UK Athletics qualified coaches. All support the club by organising a variety of structured sessions on club nights. They are also happy to work with athletes on an individual basis. To find out more, simply contact your coach of choice.

Talk to any coach or run leader at any of our gatherings for more information.

RACES & COMPETITIONS

The club competes in several leagues.

All club members are allowed and encouraged to enter any race in any league. You do not have to be selected or chosen to be in a team. A team comprises the first 3 or 4 (it varies from race to race) to complete an event. There is no limit to the number of ERC members that can run. If entering any race as an ERC member you must wear an official club vest (or t-shirt).

Road Races

The road racing season with Eastleigh offers a wide range of distance challenges from 5 miles to Half Marathons.

Off Road / Cross Country

These running events are great fun with lots friendly encouragement and a real spirit of ‘in-it-together’… and sometimes a bit of mud!

The Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) is an annual series of road races for all runners from participating clubs in the county of Hampshire.

Organised by Hampshire Athletics, the league season runs from October to February and comprises five races in Hampshire and neighbouring counties.

The RR10 league is a series of races, organised by running clubs in south-west Hampshire for their members. The races are held on Wednesday evenings during the spring and summer.

This friendly low-key league, organised by the running clubs of south Hampshire for their members, provides an excellent introduction to competitive racing. Held in the winter month, these local races are free to enter
